A few weeks ago, our team was fortunate enough to visit one the newest and most chic event venues in Wisconsin. Located just outside of Milwaukee, this re-purposed barn and chicken coop has been transformed into an exclusive event space that boasts incredible design. No detail was left unattended: every element of the venue space is well thought out and functional for any event to succeed.
Growing up in the Midwest definitely has its advantages. One of the many favorites is the beautiful change in seasons. Each season has its share of pros and cons. Today, we are talking about the cool fall days heading into frigid winter days and how that relates to dressing appropriately in a professional sense. It’s easy to dress for a brisk walk, jog, ice-skating or sledding; however, this question arises: How does one dress professionally for colder weather?

During the course of reaching out to businesses across the country and introducing the services of Professional Events and Consulting, one thing we hear over and over again, is that company staff charged with site selection and meeting management find themselves faced with a shortage of time, limited manpower, a shrinking budget, and policy changes.
PEC has been asked by several clients in the last few months to include an ethnic entertainment component into their social events, through showcasing the cultural history of Milwaukee and its rich heritage. While Milwaukee is commonly known for its brewing traditions, this is due to the long ethnic history of the area. German, Polish, Irish and French immigrants moved into the area in the mid 1800s and began to buy land for their families. There is also a strong Hispanic, African, Italian and Native American contingency that make up Milwaukee’s cultural landscape. Today, Milwaukee’s ethnic heritage carries on in many of our restaurants, neighborhoods, schools, churches and of course our many festivals.
Many Parts, One Body. This was the theme of the 2012 Convention for Catholic Financial Life which was held in downtown Milwaukee September 28-30th. Catholic Financial Life is the second largest Catholic not-for-profit financial services organization in the United States and PEC was fortunate to have been asked to play a small role in this successful convention.

On October 25th and 26th, Visit Milwaukee is hosting 20 vetted and selected meeting planners that represent thousands of tourists and millions of dollars in economic impact for 2013 and beyond. These planners, from national and international associations and fraternal organizations are currently considering Milwaukee as the destination for a future city-wide convention. They have responded with an interest in bringing their convention business to Milwaukee and are coming to experience the city for themselves.
Think Wisconsin is just brats, beer, and cheese? Think again! Recently, the Milwaukee BizTimes published that Wisconsin is expected to be the nation’s top cranberry producing state for the 18th year in a row.
