Blessings in a Backpack
PEC Meetings Company, formerly known as Professional Events and Consulting, LLC, gives back to Blessings in a Backpack.
PEC Meetings Company has a long standing history of giving back to the community, and in 2014 we are supporting Blessings in a Backpack. Blessings in a Backpack directly impact the lives of under-privileged elementary school children by providing them with much needed food on the weekends. Currently in 45 states, donations to Blessings can be made locally and 100% of the donation is given to the children in the form of nutrition.
For every site selection contract signed with PEC Meetings Company between January 1 and June 30, 2014, that meet the contract criteria, PEC Meetings Company will donate $80 in the name of that client to our local Blessings in a Backpack chapter in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. The $80 will feed an elementary school child in the program for an entire 30 week school year! 429 children in this district alone qualify for the program.
“I think PEC Meetings Company and Blessings in a Backpack partnership will bring a greater awareness to the hunger that many kids in our community face every day,” says Dee Dee Ternes, one of the Program Coordinators of Blessings in a Backpack in Menomonee Falls. “Hunger is an issue that is present in communities that people wouldn’t typically anticipate. Through this partnership, we can make a greater impact on this issue and be able to feed more kids. There is no reason why a child should be hungry in the United States.”
“This program is very close to our hearts”, says Denice Waldhuetter, VP and co-owner of PEC Meetings Company. “Blessings in a Backpack fills a crucial void for children who might otherwise go hungry. Through our donation we are committed to helping kids who don’t get enough to eat at home and whose health, academic performance, and general well-being are threatened by hunger.”
