PEC: A Woman-Owned Business Enterprise
Why We’re Celebrating: PEC is proud to announce our receiving of not one, but two Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) certifications. The first of two is a local certification through the State of Wisconsin Department of Administration. The second is certified nationally through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).
Why These Certifications Matter: Both locally and nationally, our recent certifications recognize and validate PEC as an at least 51% woman-owned business. The WBE and WBENC certifications qualify PEC to be considered for contracts with corporations and government entities that seek vendor relationships with businesses owned and operated by women.
The Technical Stuff: WBE and WBENC certified companies assist government agencies and corporate companies in fulfilling contract obligations. This process fosters a commitment to diversity in vendor choice for government agencies and corporate companies. The WBENC certification is classified as the most rigorous and sought after certification of its kind.
Why We Applied: “Our effort in applying for these certifications was to better facilitate contracting capabilities within the public and private sector as a diversity supplier. We know that the certifications provide us credibility as a 100% women-owned business and our clients can be assured that their reporting of dollars spent with PEC are accurate and verifiable.” -Cheryl McShane, President and co-owner of PEC
